The Doula Experience does not provide:

  • financial advice,

  • or emergency services.

Clients are encouraged to consult licensed professionals when appropriate.

3. Emergency Situations

The Doula Experience is not an emergency or crisis service.

If you are experiencing:

  • a medical emergency,
  • psychiatric emergency,
  • suicidal thoughts,
  • or immediate danger,

please contact:

  • 911,
  • emergency services,
  • hospice providers,
  • or a licensed healthcare professional immediately.

4. Client Responsibility

Clients remain responsible for:

  • medical decisions,
  • legal decisions,
  • financial decisions,
  • funeral arrangements,
  • and all final decisions regarding care and planning.

The Doula Experience provides guidance, education, emotional support, and coordination assistance, but does not assume decision-making authority unless legally authorized through separate written documentation.

5. Guidance vs. Hands-On Support

The Doula Experience may provide:

  • educational guidance,
  • emotional support,
  • planning assistance,
  • organizational support,
  • facilitation,
  • presence,
  • advocacy support,
  • and practical coordination assistance.

However, TDE does not replace:

  • licensed funeral directors,
  • hospice providers,
  • healthcare professionals,
  • attorneys,
  • financial professionals,
  • or family responsibility.

Support services are collaborative and family-centered in nature.

6. Home Funerals & Green Burial Education

The Doula Experience may provide educational support related to:

  • home vigils,
  • home funerals,
  • family-directed after-death care,
  • green burial options,
  • and ceremonial practices.

Laws and regulations vary by state and jurisdiction.

Clients remain responsible for:

  • compliance with local laws,
  • required permits,
  • filing requirements,
  • transportation arrangements,
  • and coordination with licensed providers when legally required.

Educational support provided by TDE should not be interpreted as legal advice.

7. Scheduling & Consultations

Consultations and appointments must be scheduled in advance unless otherwise agreed.

Clients are responsible for:

  • arriving on time,
  • providing accurate contact information,
  • and communicating scheduling changes as soon as possible.

Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to fees.

8. Payments & Fees

Fees for services vary based on:

  • level of support,
  • duration,
  • complexity,
  • travel,
  • preparation,
  • coordination,
  • and service structure.

Payment terms will be discussed prior to service delivery.

Certain services may require:

  • deposits,
  • retainers,
  • signed agreements,
  • or advance payment.

All payments made are non-transferable unless otherwise stated in writing.

9. Refund Policy

Due to the nature of time-based, emotional support, planning, and consultation services:

  • completed consultations are generally non-refundable,
  • digital products and downloadable resources are non-refundable,
  • and partially completed services may be subject to prorated review at TDE’s discretion.

Refunds, if approved, are handled on a case-by-case basis.

10. Intellectual Property

All content provided by The Doula Experience, including:

  • branding,
  • workshops,
  • guides,
  • written materials,
  • graphics,
  • forms,
  • downloads,
  • frameworks,
  • and educational materials,

remain the intellectual property of The Doula Experience unless otherwise stated.

  • decisions made by clients or family members,
