The Doula Experience

My Why

This work found me long before I understood its name.

There is a sacredness to caring for people during seasons of transition.

Not only at the end of life—
but during uncertainty,
caregiving,
grief,
reflection,
change,
and becoming.

Over time, I began to recognize how many individuals and families move through some of life’s most emotionally significant moments without enough support, preparation, or compassionate guidance. Conversations surrounding death, legacy, grief, and planning were often avoided until crisis forced them to the surface.

I felt called to help create something different.

A space where people could slow down.
Breathe.
Prepare.
Reflect.
Ask questions.
Be supported emotionally and practically—without shame, fear, or pressure.

The Doula Experience was created from that place.

Not simply as a service,
but as a philosophy of care.
I believe there is healing in preparation.
I believe there is dignity in informed choice.
I believe presence matters.
And I believe people deserve compassionate support before, during, and after life’s most important transitions.

This work is deeply human work.

It is sitting with families during uncertainty.
Helping caregivers feel less alone.
Creating meaningful ceremonies.
Supporting conversations that many people have been afraid to begin.
Holding space when words are difficult to find
My approach is rooted in compassion, steadiness, cultural awareness, and the understanding that no two lives—and no two transitions—are ever the same.

This path continues to teach me about humanity, love, grief, resilience, and the importance of being fully present with one another.

End-of-life care is more than preparation—it is a cultural act of love, transforming how we live, die, and are remembered.”  Tammara Coleman

And that is why I do this work.
